Now that the February 2019 Swinub Community Day event for Pokemon GO has come to a close, many are casting their eyes forward. It’s worth mentioning that there is a forthcoming Clamperl Limited-Time Research event on the horizon, but some are looking toward next month’s March 2019 Community Day event. It used to be that this event was revealed a day or two after the preceding event, but recent Community Days have diverged from this pattern, giving players a longer wait. Provided this pattern-breaking approach doesn’t apply to Pokemon selection, players can expect to see Treecko headline the March 2019 Community Day event. There has been a rotating starter, non-starter pattern to the Pokemon GO Community Day-featured Pokemon ever since the monthly event began, so it makes perfect sense for Niantic to begin with Gen 3 starters now. However, it is worth mentioning that, at this rate, Niantic will run out of starters to feature at the beginning of 2020 (or midway through … [Read more...] about Pokemon GO March 2019 Community Day to Feature Treecko?
Per usual, Pokemon GO developer Niantic is throwing a lot of new content, events, and features at its ever-busy fan base. This notably includes the forthcoming Clamperl Limited Time Research event and the Team Change Medallion for starters, but it also appears that the developer is adding some new avatar items to the game’s shop that focuses on the famed “Pokemon 891.” For those unaware, Meltan was first discovered by data miners in Pokemon GO, where it was designated “Kecleon” or “Pokemon 891.” This led to some serious confusion when it was finally revealed, with many thinking this latest Pocket Monster was just a glitch. Even before the name “Meltan” was officially revealed, fans gave it various nicknames like “Nutto.” This unusual marketing and introduction seemed to work, as Meltan’s popularity continued to soar. It would go on to receive its own Special Research quest in Pokemon GO, be available in Pokemon … [Read more...] about Pokemon GO: New Meltan Avatar Items Leak
Pokemon GO players already had Community Day this month, but apparently Niantic is delivering another three hour bonus event out of the blue. The short event, which offers some great in-game bonuses, will celebrate the release of a limited time Clamperl research task. In addition to the chance to earn Clamperl as a limited research reward during the event window, players will also receive a 2x Catch Stardust bonus for Water-type Pokemon and there will be increased Water-type spawns during the event. Trainers who may be busy on February 23 will just need to be sure to start the Limited Research, but they don’t have to finish it right away. Clamperl will still be the reward even for players who can’t complete the task during the three hour window. That said, we’re guessing the increased Water-type spawns are likely going to make the upcoming tasks much easier, so playing during the window is recommended if possible. Event Date + Time Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and … [Read more...] about Pokemon GO Limited Clamperl Research Event Details
Although it is a longtime staple of completion in the mainline franchise, completing the Pokedex in Pokemon GO is one of the most challenging feats in the mobile AR game. In addition to limited-time Legendaries and a frequent release of new creatures, there are also very hard to acquire regional exclusives in the game. Regional exclusives are Pokemon that are meant to only be captured in certain areas of the globe. Now that trading has been added and there have been a few events that took regionals outside of their natural habitat, completing the Pokedex has become more realistic for many players, but is still a big challenge. As each generation is released, there are new batches of regionals to keep track of. The most recent Gen 4 additions are all in place and players can use this visual guide to find out where each exclusive Pokemon calls home.Although it seems simple at first glance, there have been lots of exceptions to these placements thanks to Pokemon GO’s special events. … [Read more...] about Pokemon GO: Regional Exclusive Guide (Including Exceptions)
Pokemon GO’s big Community Day weekend just wrapped up and now trainers are preparing for whatever is next in the mobile AR game. A new update is just around the corner, which will likely bring the recently announced new AR features, but the code apparently also contains some hints about other exciting additions to the popular game. As always, the Chrales twitter account is sharing details after the latest code teardown. The big news from the account’s latest tweetstorm is all about a new item called the Team Medallion. According to the datamine, the item is going to offer players the chance to change teams. This may sound like it could cause some serious problems, but Niantic seems to be keeping that under control by making it so that the item can only be purchased once every 365 days. This is a feature that has been requested for a long time, so it’s great to see Niantic finally delivering on it. The majority of veteran players selected a team long before they knew … [Read more...] about Pokemon GO Adding Team Change Item With Crazy Cooldown
