While "Fallout 4" has been one of the best video game titles released last year, mods for the PlayStation 4 console had just recently arrived. Fans should be thankful more than complaining though, as it has been revealed that Sony actually refused to approve the mods that Bethesda wished to implement. In a statement, Bethesda has revealed that the console manufacturer did not approve user mods the way they are supposed to work, where players could actually do anything they want. This goes for both "Fallout 4" and the "Skyrim Special Edition." Fast forward to today though, and Bethesda had already released update 1.8, which now brings mods to the PlayStation 4. With the newly supported mods on the PlayStation 4, here are five of them worth looking at. Limited Minutemen Quests With this nifty mod at the player's might, Preston Garvey will considerately wait for you to finish all the Minutemen missions you are already trying to accomplish before he offers another one. This gives the … [Read more...] about ‘Fallout 4’ Latest News & Update: Mods Now Available on PlayStation 4; Most Amazing PS4 Mods Each Player Should Download Right Now
"Fallout: New Vegas" had been through on Xbox One while the Obsidian Entertainment's other role-playing game will not make its way on the console. The Obsidian RPG that didn't make it on Xbox One for some reasons is the game called "Stormlands". After Microsoft scrapped the project, Fergus Urquhart came forward to reveal the reason why. According to IGN, Fergus Urquhart said that having plenty of budgets and having a champion will make the game through. The champion that Urquhart mentioned refers to someone at the publisher who can defend the game at Microsoft. The big-budgeted game is going to be good to go if there is someone at the publisher who has the ability and the attitude to defend and assure the higher-ups of the game, Urquhart added. On the contrary, Obsidian became less fortunate of having any of those two mentioned. As a result of the game cancellation, 30 developers were reportedly laid off by Obsidian, as mentioned by GameSpot. "Stormlands" has no other details but it … [Read more...] about ‘Fallout’ On Xbox One; Reasons Why Their Other RPG Was Canceled
At the start of this year, a mysterious thing happened. The original Fallout games (Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout: Tactics) disappeared from online distribution sites like Steam and GOG.com. There seems to be no real reason why they were removed and no real explanations were offered up by the distributors, although this likely has to do with the changing of hands from Interplay to Bethesda. GOG.com had the following to say about this whole fiasco- "Due to circumstances beyond our control, we needed to pull the three classic Fallout games, that is Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics, from sale and remove them from our DRM-free catalog. These classic titles have been with us since day one, that is for over 5 years now, and they were always one of the highlights of the selection of games that we offer. There are very few titles in the history of computer role-playing games, that have had so much impact on the gaming landscape, players' expectations, and even the popular culture. The … [Read more...] about Fallout Trilogy Removed From Online Sale on Steam, GOG.com
If we've learned anything with the recent TheSurvivor2299 / Fallout 4 site hoax, it's that it's that the Fallout community is made up of a truly dedicated, borderline rabid fan-base. Big as Bethesda's store is, a few Fallout hoodies and sneakers just aren't enough merch to keep everyone satisfied, so every now and again, someone with a creative flair will make their own line of Fallout fandom. Case in point with Redditor and Fallout fan Webberley, whose custom Yes Man figurine from Fallout: New Vegas earned him big props. As a follow-up, Webberley shared what else he was working on with Reddit's Fallout community: Below, you have a few shots of a Brotherhood of Steel figure in the requisite power armor. Sharp eyed "Dr. Who" fans will recognize it as a heavily customized Cyberman figure. According to Webberley, "the head was cast front the PS3 collector edition statue," while the armor "is sculpted with putty and built out of card." While the Brotherhood of … [Read more...] about Fallout Fan Figurines are Fabulous
With no word from Bethesda on when the new Fallout game will rear its head, fans are forced to look inward for their Fallout fix. Good thing that the Fallout community is a dedicated bunch, and while some are trying to pull the wool over our eyes, others are capable of some truly impressive works. Fallout: New Vegas was rife with companions and different factions players could ally themselves with, or wage war against. While they were important in Bethesda's previous post-apocalyptic affair, groups like the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave didn't count for much in the western desert of Fallout: New Vegas. Instead, the NCR and Casear's Legion were the groups that held sway. But with such alluring power armor and fancy plasma and laser based weaponry, the two groups were hard to forget. Players could gather together a small troop of former Enclave soldiers to help the NCR fight off the Legion (or vice versa), but that was about all the involvement the former leaders of the free … [Read more...] about Fallout News: New Vegas Gets Enclave Faction Thanks to Modders
Ever find yourself wishing you could sit back and pop open a Nuka-Cola from the Fallout games on a hot summer day? Well, you're probably going to have to still wait a while for that one, but Fallout studio ZeniMax Media did file some patents with the US patent office pertaining to the famous cola, which IGN dug up today. The trademarks were filed for games and computer software, clothing and apparel, and electronic services. That last one is interesting, because IGN notes that that trademark specifically referenced "electronic computer games via the internet." Maybe with the success of The Elder Scrolls Online, ZeniMax has an MMO in the works for their other major property? It's probably a long shot, but it'd sure be cool. If you're not familiar with Nuka-Cola, first go play Fallout 3, because you'll definitely know then. It's more or less the Coke of the Fallout world, and it survived the apocalypse like a cockroach or a Twinkie. Unfortunately there wasn't a trademark filed for a … [Read more...] about ‘Fallout’ Developer ZeniMax Files Trademarks For Nuka-Cola, Possibly For a New Game?
The fan-made mod for the post-apocalyptic Fallout: New Vegas, Project Brazil is live. Not just a simple re-skinning, Project Brazil actually provides a whole new world, roughly the size of Fallout 3's Capital Wasteland, complete with main and side quests, complete with 5000 lines of professionally recorded dialogue. Not bad work for a couple of fans who poured themselves into the mod for the last four years. Maybe it's not an official expansion, but buckle up spanky, because despite any and all rumors, it looks like Bethesda doesn't have any Fallout related plans coming down the pipeline any time soon. So this is gonna have to do for the forseeable future. The mod begins just like any bit of Americana should, a friendly game of ball. As described by the Project Brazil Nexus site: As we all knew, you could only take listening to "Ain't That a Kick in the Head?" and "Johnny Guitar" so many times before you wanted to throw yourself into the Divide. The modders knew that … [Read more...] about Fallout Fan Mod, Project Brazil, Is Out [FANDOM]
With the Fallout 4 hoax site charade still fresh in most gamers' minds, this tidbit of information could've come a lot sooner. If you've been holding your breath in anticipation for a new Fallout or Elder Scrolls game announcement from Bethesda, best let it out and take a seat, because suffice it to say, it's not going to happen for a while. Company Director Todd Howard said as much in a recent interview with RPS, no doubt bursting many a bubble across the landscape. "We don't have a timeframe for our next game announcement," were his exact words when prodded about a new Fallout title. "But I think it's gonna be a while. We've gotten fairly used to all the questions and curiosity over the years. Everyone wants information. Right now, we're just trying to figure out which of our ideas are going to stick and finding an appropriate time to talk about it." Howard did reflect on the fans' dedication to their more popular series of late, and that the work that modders are … [Read more...] about Fallout 4 Reveal Isn’t Coming Any Time Soon Says Bethesda
