In fact, it appears that Fallout 76 is a graphical downgrade from its predecessor Fallout 4 on the Xbox One X, despite it being the most powerful console on the market. It’s worth mentioning, though, that the downgrades could be a result of the pre-launch build, the new multiplayer aspect, or both.According to Digital Foundry’s graphical test, Fallout 76‘s resolution seems to bite the bullet, as it dips lower than even the lowest levels of its predecessor. Fallout 4 was able to sustain 4k graphics on the Xbox One X, but its online companion can barely hit about 75% of that resolution. Moreover, the textures in the … [Read more...] about Fallout 76 on Xbox One X is a Graphical Downgrade from Fallout 4
Fallout 76 Nuke blast effect is being highly criticized by the community already but a Reddit comparison with an 11-year old Crysis has added fuel to the fire. Fallout 76 Nuke blast effect is being called “trash” and some are saying it “sucks.” They good reason to think this way as the blast looks like a mesh with the same animation everytime with randomized texture scrolling. The lack of shockwave, no ringing ear effect, and surrounding trees acting as if they couldn’t care less about the whole situation. Meanwhile, in West Virginia, a nuke explosion feels just like a regular missile going off in the distance but with a giant mushroom cloud. All that was done with the footage above is modders adding better textures to the whole scene. Ahead of the release of Fallout 76 next month, Bethesda has formed an unlikely partnership. An announcement yesterday confirmed that the development studio will be working with the West Virginia Tourism Office to both promote the game and encourage people to visit the state. In a statement, West Virginia Governor Jim Justice said that “it’s finally time the rest of the world see what a gem West Virginia is. For years, I’ve been saying we have it all: beautiful scenery, the best people you could ask for and more. And now, we get to share a piece of that with people all over the world through the unique lens of this video game [sic].” The fact that this particular videogame also showcases West Virginia through the unique lens of a post-nuclear Wasteland is, apparently, of little importance to Governor Justice. That West Virginia is getting shown off again is all that matters. The location was confirmed for Fallout 76 earlier this summer to the tune of one of the … [Read more...] about West Virginia tourist board wants you to know it’s nothing like Fallout 76
