report this adAfter a few weeks off, Lord Saladin and his Iron Banner event has returned to the Tower. With Destiny 2 season 4 set to wrap up on November 27, this is the last chance for players to gain rank and packages with the Iron Lord. In Season 3 of Destiny 2, Bungie introduced a pinnacle weapon called Redrix’s Claymore that was meant for top-tier Crucible players. With the launch of Forsaken, Bungie expanded the scope of pinnacle weapons to include competitive and quickplay fans with the Luna’s Howl and Redrix’s Broadsword quests, but the focus was still on PvP. In Season 5, however, it appears Bungie is growing the pinnacle weapon pool to include Gambit. During today’s Bungie Bounty, the developers were asked a ton of questions about the Gambit mode. The queries ranged from whether Bungie will address the catch-up mechanic to how the mode changed during development. And while a lot of the answers were illuminating, the one that had most Destiny 2 fans excited was confirmation of a Gambit pinnacle weapon next season.Since this wasn’t a formal announcement, there are still a lot of questions surrounding the Gambit pinnacle weapon. Luke Smith says Bungie loves the Forsaken expansion as Activision states the DLC has under-performed. Following Activision’s Q3 2018 report that saw COO Coddy Johnson state that Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion sales failed to meet the company’s expectations, game director Luke Smith is reassuring fans that Bungie won’t be changing up the formula to appeal to the masses in an attempt to draw in more players. “We are not disappointed with Forsaken. We set out to build a game that Destiny players would love, and at Bungie, we love it too,” Smith tweeted. “Building Destiny for players who love it is and will remain our focus going forward.” During last week’s earnings call, Activision COO Coddy Johnson said that, “While Forsaken is a high-quality expansion with strong engagement and new modes of play, it did not achieve [Activision’s] commercial expectations. This week, Activision revealed that Destiny 2’s first major expansion, Forsaken, failed to meet sales expectations despite a more positive reception from the game’s community. As a result, the publisher claims it has plans for Destiny 2 to increase the cadence of content releases and apparently add microtransactions, but how quickly those changes may occur is unclear. What has been made a little clearer, however, is the release date of Destiny 2’s next DLC, Black Armory. While Bungie didn’t outright reveal the release date for Black Armory, it did offer some clues as to the first Destiny 2 Year 2 DLC’s release date. According to Bungie, Season 4 of Destiny 2 will conclude on November 27th, which would presumably lead players into Black Armory. The obvious release date for Black Armory would be on November 27th after the weekly reset at 9am PT.
