A couple of years ago, Activision released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered as part of a special edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The decision to bundle Modern Warfare Remastered with Infinite Warfare, and not selling a standalone version for about six months, was met with harsh criticism from the community. However, if new rumors are correct, then it seems like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered will be standalone right off the bat, and will release a lot sooner than expected. An Amazon listing discovered by IGN Italy pegged both a PS4 and Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered (which has yet to be officially announced) for release on April 30. The listing also included pricing information, which translated to about $25, though a more likely scenario is that it will cost $30 or even $40, like Modern Warfare Remastered did at launch. While it’s certainly possible that Call of Duty: Modern … [Read more...] about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Coming Next Month?

Just yesterday, Activision and Sledgehammer Games teased a forthcoming St. Patrick’s Day-themed event in the first-person shooter Call of Duty: WW2, leading many to speculate what kind of content would eventually be included in the holiday celebration. Now, the publisher and developer have officially confirmed the event as Operation: Shamrock & Awe, with players of the FPS able to experience its action from now until April 3, 2018. As seen below in the official Call of Duty: WW2 Operation: Shamrock & Awe trailer, the first-person shooter’s Headquarters are now decked out in St. Patrick’s Day-themed designs, with flags emblazoned with clover insignias, rainbows arching over the grounds, as well as a giant and smoking mug of ale at the camp. Not to mention, there’s even new uniform variants, camos, charms, and the two new weapons: the M-38 Submachine Gun and the MG-81 Light Machine Gun. Just several days ago, in a bid to keep players coming back for more in Call of Duty: WW2, Sledgehammer Games officially announced the permanent inclusion of fan-favorite modes Gun Game and Prop Hunt. Now, it looks like the developer is set to give fans of the first-person shooter even more action in the near future, as the studio teased a potential St. Patrick’s Day-related event coming to the title. As seen in the tweet below from the official Twitter account associated with Call of Duty: WW2, Captain Butcher of the game’s Headquarters mode can be seen in a dynamic image wearing what appears to be a uniform related to St. Patrick’s Day, as four-leaf clovers rain down all around him. What’s more is that the text underneath the GIF reads, “Good luck is hard to come by, soldier,” which looks to be an indication of an event coming that’s related to the annual cultural and religious celebration. Good luck is hard to come by, soldier.Brace … [Read more...] about Call of Duty: WW2 Teases St. Patrick’s Day Event

Fans of the Black Ops series do not have to wait for the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 to begin celebrating, however. Treyarch Studios has revealed a special gift for gamers who are still playing Black Ops 3 which released in 2015 and has received continuous support ever since. Yesterday, Treyarch and Activision officially announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The two companies confirmed that the game would be released in October on PC and consoles and that a more significant reveal event will take place in May. Unfortunately, though, few other details about the game or its release plans were confirmed, leaving it up to fans to continue speculating. The latest piece of fan speculation doing the rounds is that the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be hosted through Battlenet, which is the PC client created by (Overwatch and Hearthstone developer) Blizzard Entertainment. The Call of Duty Profile account management site appears to have been updated and the list of services that users can connect their profile to now includes Blizzard’s Battlenet alongside the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and Steam. The change to the account management section was made alongside the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 announcement. While Battlenet is host to … [Read more...] about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 to Be On Battlenet?
This is the compilation of violent scenes from video games that President Trump used in his meeting with US video game executives yesterday. Unsurprisingly the video features multiple Call of Duty games, Sniper Elite, Fallout, Wolfenstein and Dead By Daylight. There’s probably some irony in the inclusion of the infamous No Russian scene from Call of Duty, what with current investigations ongoing. According to reports of the meeting, it didn’t actually achieve much. Almost as if it’s being used as a distraction from the real issue of arming a nation with military grade weaponry. “This is violent, isn’t it?” said Trump to attendees of the meeting, according to The Washington Post, which included an exec from Take-Two and suits from The Entertainment Association, which supports US video game publishers. Trump encouraged the industry “to explore things they can do on their own to make things healthier in society” according to one attendee. … [Read more...] about Watch the video Trump used to highlight violent games at meeting with video game execs
For several months now, rumors have been swirling that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be the latest entry in Activision’s long-running first-person shooter franchise. While there had been plenty of reports quoting comments from anonymous sources, it became more apparent than ever that Black Ops 4 is the next game when NBA star James Harden wore a hat featuring the logo of the upcoming game. In a not-totally surprising announcement, Treyarch and Activision officially announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 today. The game will be released on October 12, confirm the two companies, which means that the new game will arrive just two weeks ahead of Red Dead Redemption 2. It sounds like once again competition could be fierce for the busy pre-holiday shopping month. While October is often a popular release month for games, some will wonder whether this will harm the game’s chances of success. The series only just got back on track with Call of Duty: WW2 and there will be questions of … [Read more...] about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Officially Announced
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 rumor mill is well and truly running. NBA star James Harden sported a Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 branded hat ahead of the game between Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder and GameStop merchandise listings also revealed that there will be various pieces of Black Ops 4 memorabilia for fans of the upcoming game to collect. Just to add fuel to the speculation, though, even more publications have stepped forward claiming to have spoken to sources confirming that the game really is in development. A report from Kotaku‘s Jason Schreier reveals that not only is the logo on Harden’s hat the official branding for the game, but that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will take place in a “near-future setting.” The suggestion that Black Ops 4 will be a near-future set game may sound alarm bells for some fans. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare received huge backlash for deciding to take its action to space, fully embracing a futuristic … [Read more...] about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is Set in Near-Future
Zombies have been a large part of the Call of Duty series over the last few years, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has been no exception. It was just under a year ago that the game received a major piece of zombie-themed DLC called “The Zombie Chronicles,” and now fans are getting even more via the game’s most recent update. With Call of Duty: WW2 now released and in need of its own steady drip of content and updates, one would think that Activision and Treyarch would have all but forgotten about a game that’s now over two years old. That doesn’t seem to be the case, however; not only is Black Ops 3 still receiving updates, but its latest one was fairly substantial considering the game’s age and relatively small player base. The most recent update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 introduces two pieces of new content in addition to the usual performance updates. The first is a new game mode called “Infected,” wherein one … [Read more...] about Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Adds New Map, Infected Multiplayer Mode
