Black Ops 4 Alcatraz changes have been detailed by Treyarch game design director David Vonderhaar. Vonderhaar made the comments shortly after the release of the game’s second Blackout map last week. “The Collapse,” Black Ops 4’s take on the encircling threat featured in battle royale games, was the primary concern. The first potential changes highlighted by Vonderhaar were related to the “Coward’s Way Out” mechanic. The mechanic allows players to choose to die faster when downed, enabling them to respawn quicker. Vonderhaar states that not being able to use this mechanic in Alcatraz when you have no chance of being revived is something that he “will fix asap.” However, he clarifies “please don’t hang me over what asap means. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 players are in for a treat as Infected Mode arrives today starting with PlayStation 4. After a lot of demand and discussions, Treyarch has finally introduced the returning Infected mode which comes with a twist. For the first time in BO4, the infected player will be a zombie. “Fight to survive against an ever-growing team of infected, or join the horde and eliminate your enemies”, says Treyarch. The objective of the player who turns to a zombie is to infect other players by killing them in order to win. Normal players just have to survive until the end to win. It’s a little complicated but very fun especially when played with friends. The classic Infected multiplayer mode has been a part of many previous Call of Duty games in the series. Treyarch teased a massive update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 this past week and then we got to see some major details about the new additions in the yesterday’s update. Last week’s update v1.15 focused on optimizing GPU memory usage for lower-end setups and stability. We also learned last month that the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout Map will be receiving some major changes. Update version 1.16 adds a number of fixes and additions to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (at least on PS4). Treyarch released a fresh list of patch notes on Reddit which lists the additions and fixes in detail. Latest Black Ops 4 update is now live on all platforms including Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. It’s a small update on consoles but a massive one on PC (9.2 GB to be exact) due to its focus on the latter platform. This update takes Black Ops 4’s version to 1.15 on the consoles and 1.14 on PC platform. You are only required to have 161 MB of free storage space on PS4 and 39 MB on Xbox One to install this update. The update brings stability improvements, fixes bugs and crashes across multiplayer, zombies mode and Blackout. The annoying team player collisions in the multiplayer mode have been also fixed. It’s one of the most reported problems in the game since launch. Treyarch says that they have “temporarily increased the player collision boundaries”. Black Ops 4’s Shamrock and Awe event is now live and on top of that, Treyarch is giving free DLC maps access to the players this weekend along with double XP and more. The developer revealed in its latest March update. Starting at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET today, players across all platforms will be able to play on four DLC maps included in Black Ops Pass for free. These maps include Elevation, Madagascar, Casino, and Lockup. You can play for free on these maps until 10 AM PT Monday, March 18. If you ever wanted to try out the latest Call of Duty entry in the franchise then it’s the best time to do so. In addition to free maps, Treyarch is turning on double XP and rewards for all of the game’s modes this weekend.
