The Ubisoft E3 2019 has come and gone, with the French publisher making a series of new announcements including big reveals, new release dates, and some surprise announcements. The likes of Watch Dogs Legion, Gods and Monsters, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and Roller Champions were all featured during the event, which offered viewers a look at what the company has up its sleeve over the course of the next year or so. Check out the Ubisoft E3 2019 highlights (and lowlights) below: Ubisoft E3 2019 | Highlights and lowlights Highlight: Watch Dogs Legion was perfectly British I’m surprised to report that Watch Dogs Legion is one of the highlights of E3 2019 thus far. Ubisoft began its press conference with a 10-minute gameplay demo, showing off its NPC-switching mechanic in which players can take control of various different characters (including a granny assassin!) along with its cyberpunk take on London. Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok, the rumored latest game in Ubisoft’s long-running franchise, was a no-show at E3 2019. The eternal war between Assassins and Templars (or whoever will stand in for them in this time period) will have to be revealed at a later date. The new Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok game doesn’t yet have a release date or even a broad release window. So, where to begin with this Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok E3 2019 MIA shocker? Recent alleged leaks have pointed towards a wintry climate for the new Assassin’s Creed game, but the Vikings, jarls, and all the rest of it, were nowhere to be found. Ubisoft did have its fair share of mainstays at the E3 2019 conference: Just Dance, Ghost Recon, and Watch Dogs all made their presence known, which makes the absence of Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok even more puzzling. Attention will inevitably turn towards future events: Gamescom 2019 is … [Read more...] about Where was the new Assassin’s Creed game at E3 2019?
With Xbox and Bethesda behind us, E3 2019 is officially underway. The next big presentation will come from Ubisoft, where fans are likely going to get some details about Watch Dogs Legion, updates on existing games like The Division 2, and hopefully some exciting surprises. Oh, there will probably be a dance number, too. The Ubisoft press conference is usually quite a spectacle with music guests, professional dancers, and the occasional celebrity appearance (though they probably can’t top Keanu). Ubisoft confirmed a new Watch Dogs ahead of the show, so more details on that game feel like a very safe bet. Whether or not the rumored Assassin’s Creed game makes an appearance may be more of a gamble. Whatever ends up happening on stage, Ubisoft fans definitely won’t want to miss a chance to watch along at home.Time Monday, June 10, 2019 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET Tune In Be sure to check back throughout the week for more E3 2019 leaks, updates, and news. Following the devastating Notre Dame fire, Assassin’s Creed Unity developer Ubisoft stepped in to help out the cause by donating $564,000 and made the aforementioned action-adventure title free on Steam for a limited time. Ubisoft’s response received a strong reaction from the community, as Assassin’s Creed Unity received a wave of “positive review bombs” — which seems antithetical at best — that offer tons of praise for both the game and the developer. Considering that the practice of review bombing falls into “off topic” reviews by the Steam developer Valve, the company has now issued an official statement. Valve defines a review bomb as “an event where players post a large number of reviews in a very compressed time frame, aimed at lowering the Review Score of a game.” The developer states that they considered a “positive review bomb” at the time, but since it had never really happened before, Valve … [Read more...] about Valve Comments on Assassin’s Creed Unity Positive Review Bombing
