De Gea ‘to sign’ Man United contract
David De Gea is expected to sign a new contract at Manchester United following Jose Mourinho’s exit.
The Spain No.1 is out of contract at the end of the season although United have taken up a year option.
The 28-year-old is reportedly happy under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and could pen a new long-term deal.
The contract would reportedly make him the world’s highest-earning goalkeeper with a deal worth £400,00-a-week.
Mirror Football suggests the deal could be announced before the end of the transfer window.
Cardiff to land Everton man
Everton striker Oumar Niasse is heading to Cardiff City on loan until the end of the season.
The striker is set to undergo a medical in Wales today after a frustrating season in Marco Silva’s side.
The 28-year-old was also attracting interest from Newcastle and Huddersfield but he will now join the Bluebirds.
United on alert for Gareth Bale
Manchester United have been put on red alert over the availability of Gareth Bale.
That’s according to reports from the Express who suggest that Bale could be set to leave Spain.
The Welshman’s future at Madrid may depend on the Brexit deal.
Officials have stated that the current withdrawal agreement would protect Bale’s right to work and live in Spain, though the result of a no-deal Brexit is still extremely uncertain.
One to keep an eye on.
Chelsea and Man City ‘interested’ in Christian Eriksen
Tottenham Hostpur star Christian Eriksen is wanted by Premier League rivals Chelsea and Man City, according to Mirror Football.
His contract at Spurs expires in 2020 and he is yet to agree a new deal with the club.
According to Spanish outlet AS, Real Madrid are seriously considering making a move for the talented playmaker.
But they could face interest from closer to home.
Barca set Coutinho minimum fee
Manchester United have been linked with a move for the former Liverpool star in the last few weeks.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo have claimed that the Red Devils have contacted his agent about a possible transfer.
But journalist David Aymoral now reports that ea deal will be unlikely this window, he told ESPN:
“A deal looks rather unlikely in January, since the Blaugrana would want more than €100 million to even consider the departure of the crown jewel of their transfer campaign last winter.”
Bailey linked with Chelsea
Speculation about Bayern Leverkusen star Leon Bailey has emerged in Germany.
Bailey is thought to be the wishlist of a host of Premier League club with Chelsea rumored to be interested.
His agent now claims Chelsea have again been in contact over a possible deal.
Lallana out of Liverpool?
Adam Lallana could make a move to Rangers this month, according to the bookies.
The Liverpool man has made just eight appearances this season at Anfield this season.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is now being linked with the England international for a move.
Gerrard has already made a splash in the transfer market after landing big name duo Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis.
He is available 4/1 to join the Gers.
Fellaini to leave United?
Marouane Fellaini could be set to leave Manchester United, according to The Mirror.
Interim boss Solskjaer has only brought the Belgian on as a substitute twice in his six games in charge.
AC Milan, Porto and Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande are all thought to be interested in the 31-year-old.
A fee of £15million is rumoured for the Belgian.
Chelsea hoping for progress on Higuain deal
Chelsea are hoping to get the green light to move forwards with a deal to sign Gonzalo Higuain by the end of the week, according to the Telegraph.
Higuain is with the AC Milan squad for Wednesday night’s Italian Super Cup final in Jeddah against his parent club Juventus.
The report adds that the Argentine has made it clear that he wishes to cut short his loan at AC Milan from Juventus to join his former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge this month.
United likely to shelve Koulibaly bid until the summer
Manchester United are likely to wait until the summer to sign Kalidou Koulibaly – despite Marcos Rojo’s expected departure.
The Telegraph claim United have made Koulibaly their top central defensive target but have received little encouragement from Napoli over a January deal.
Instead, United will look to bide their time and make a move for a player they see as being key to the improvement of their defence once the season ends.
Morata transfer ‘in the balance’
Alvaro Morata’s potential Atletico Madrid move hangs in the balance, according to Mail Online.
Diego Simeone’s side are reportedly unwilling to sanction anything other than a short-term loan for the forward who has looked short on confidence for much of his time in English football.
But Chelsea want more of a financial guarantee from the La LIga side as they prepare to cut their loss on a player they paid £58m for just 18 months ago.
Arsenal near breakthrough for Denis Suarez
Arsenal are edging closer to the signing of Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez after productive talks with the La Liga giants.
Suarez is the Gunners’ top target in January and Mirror Football claim the Spaniard is likely to join on an initial loan with a view to an £18m permanent move in the summer.
They have also been linked with James Rodriguez, but a deal for the Colombian looks far more difficult to pull off.
West Ham readying Piatek bid
The Genoa striker has also been touted as a potential replacement for the injured Harry Kane at Spurs.
Eriksen to Real Madrid rumours
AS in Spain have claimed Christian Eriksen is no closer to sorting a a new deal at Tottenham, with Real Madrid waiting in the wings if he cannot agree terms.
Eriksen’s contract runs until the summer of 2020 but no breakthrough appear close and Real are considering bringing the Dane to the Bernabeu this summer.
AS add that there is a “0.1 per cent” chance that the move could happen in January, as Real focus all their attention on a close-season transfer.
Chelsea dealt Barella blow
Chelsea’s pursuit of Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella has hit a snag.
Maurizio Sarri had earmarked the Cagliari midfielder as a potential replacement for Cesc Fabregas in January.
But Cagliari director Mario Passetti’s update on the midfielder’s future sounds bleak for the Blues.
“We continue to talk about him, we do interviews and issue statements, but evidently we’re not being clear enough: we reiterate that [Barella] will stay for at least for the next six months.
“After that, we’ll see what happens in the summer.
“We have big ambitions and Nicolo gives 1000 percent in every training session and he’s happy to be at Cagliari. Selling him isn’t one of our objectives.”
Manchester United ‘do not need’ Arsenal target Carrasco
Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur believes Manchester United ‘do not need’ Yannick Carrasco despite links to the wideman.
Carrasco is desperate to leave Chinese club Dalian Yifang and has also been touted as an Arsenal target in the January transfer window, but Terreur says United won’t be competing with the Gunners for his signature on Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk Podcast.
“He just wants to leave China, and his people are offering him everywhere. He wants to go to England, he wants to be closer to home.
“But I do not think Manchester United need this type of player right now, if you have Rashford, Lukaku, Lingard, Martial, Sanchez, Mata, so I don’t think he would play over there.”
Celtic legend laughs off Liverpool ‘bid’ for James Forrest
Celtic legend John Hartson admitted to laughing when he heard about rumours of an £8m bid from Liverpool for James Forrest, as that “might get you his big toe.”
Forrest was linked with a surprise move to Anfield last weekend.
But writing in the Evening Times, via the Daily Star , Hartson responded:
“I have to say that I laughed when I saw the figures quoted for James Forrest this weekend.
“£8million? That might get you his big toe.
“Aside from the fact that the lad himself has signed a long-term deal with Celtic, the club he has been with since primary school, the money quoted for him is laughable.
“We are not talking about a pup at 16 or 17. We are talking about a boy who has scored goals at international and Champions League level and who has blossomed into an winger who guarantees double-figure goals.
The days of English clubs coming in and getting players for pennies are long gone.
“If Liverpool or anyone else want him then they will have to have very deep pockets.”
Man United ‘to sell’ defender
Manchester United could look to sell Marcos Rojo, according to the Metro.
The defender has struggled with fitness issues this season and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to let him go.
Rojo left the club’s Dubai training camp last week after he picked up another injury.
He is yet to feature under Solskjaer.
Spurs eye loan move for forward
The Daily Star reports that Spurs are looking at Barcelona forward Malcom after losing Harry Kane for the next few months.
Kane has been ruled out for seven weeks with an ankle ligament problem, while Son Heung-min is away at the Asian Cup.
Pochettino has reportedly turned to Malcom who moved to the Nou Camp from Bordeaux in the summer.
He could be available on loan this month as failing to impress.
Arsenal man wanted
Roma could make a loan move for Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
The Frenchman has struggled to keep his place in Gunners first team this season.
Reports in Italy suggest Roma could sign move for the midfielder on loan with a view to a permanent move.
Arsenal eye bargain £3m deal
Arsenal are reportedly looking to sign Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez, as reported by Mirror Football.
The forward has spent the last 18 months on loan at Bayern Munich but he has struggled this season.
Arsenal could now make their move to take over the loan for the rest of the season, at a cost of £3m.
Bayern paid £11.5m for the two-year loan and have the option to buy Rodriguez for £39.5m this summer.
Real Madrid ready to move for Christian Eriksen
Real Madrid are feeling more confident about signing Christian Eriksen.
Spanish outlet AS are reporting that the Dane is unlikely to sign a new contract at Spurs and Madrid could make their move.
It is thought in Spain that a £50m-£75m offer could be enough to get talks started with Eriksen keen on the switch.
Petr Cech announces retirement
Peter Cech has announced that he will retire from playing at the end of the season.
The Arsenal keeper revealed his decision on social media on Tuesday.
“This is my 20th season as a professional player and it has been 20 years since I signed my first professional contract, so it feels like the right time to announce that I will retire at the end of the season.
“Having played 15 years in the Premier League, and won every single trophy possible, I feel like I have achieved everything I set out to achieve.
“I will continue to work hard at Arsenal to hopefully win one more trophy this season, then I am looking forward to seeing what life holds for me off the pitch.”
Allardyce rules out Huddersfield job
Sam Allardyce isn’t interested in taking the Huddersfield Town job.
He told talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show:
As much as I like Huddersfield, it’s very difficult job indeed. For me, and I know the fans won’t want to hear this, it’s got to be about planning for relegation and then planning to get back into the Premier League.
For me, at this stage of my life if they made an approach I would chat with them, but I think it’s very unlikely, Alan.
They’ve only scored 12 goals in 22 matches, and while I’ve managed to pull teams out of the bottom end, at Sunderland I had Jermain Defoe and at Crystal Palace I had Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke.
Huddersfield’s trouble is not their performances, it’s a lack of goals and we all know what it means when you have a goalscorer
It’s a very difficult task.”
Giroud wanted in shock move
Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is wanted by Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.
The La Liga giants are looking for striking options in January to take some of the burden off Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
And Spanish publication SPORT reports that Barca are now exploring the possibility of Giroud.
David De Gea ready to sign new contract
As reported by the MEN, David De Gea is ready to sign a new deal at Manchester United.
But he wants wages of over £300,000 including bonuses.
That would see a 50 per cent increase from his current £200,000-a-week contract.
PSG name price for Adrien Rabiot
PSG are ready to allow Adrien Rabiot to leave for a cut-price fee of £15m this month, according to Mirror Football.
Rabiot is a free agent at the end of the season with his contract expiring and he has no plans to sign a new deal.
Barcelona were thought to be leading the race but PSG are looking at other options.
The midfielder hasn’t featured since last year with Premier League interest building.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have been credited with an interest.
Chelsea to demand £100m for Eden Hazard
Chelsea will tell Real Madrid that they want at least £100m for Eden Hazard – even though he’ll only have a year left on his contract in the summer.
The forward is prepared to wait until the end of the current campaign before considering a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
Head coach Maurizio Sarri last month told Hazard he wanted a decision on his future.
The Telegraph report that Chelsea have no plans to let him leave on the cheap.
Chelsea ‘agree terms’ with midfielder
Chelsea look set to sign Leandro Paredes as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas
Paredes, 24, has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Chelsea who have made an offer worth £27m.
Zenit Saint Petersburg are keen to keep him but it’s thought that the latest offer could be enough to persuade them to sell.
Mirror Football report that Zenit are now seeking a replacement with the deal close to completion.
Man United’s £100m Koulibaly bid
Manchester United are ready to make their move for Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Mirror Football.
The 27-year-old Senegal international is seen as the solution to United’s issues at centre-back.
Koulibaly has been in superb form for Napoli this season but he has suffered racist abuse in Italy.
The centre-back was sent off after being targeted by monkey chants when Napoli were beaten 1-0 at Inter Milan on Boxing Day.
The issue has left Koulibaly devastated – and a move away from Italy now appears to be the most likely outcome.
