Days ahead of E3 2018, Electronic Arts offered Star Wars fans a brief tease of the new game from Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment during its EA Play press conference. Respawn’s game is called Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and will focus on a dark time in the Star Wars timeline when the Jedi are being hunted. Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella confirmed the game’s name and its release window: holiday 2019. Based on Zampella’s description, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will be set between Episodes III and IV of the Star Wars film universe. EA and Respawn announced their Star Wars action game in 2016, revealing that former God of War director Stig Asmussen was helming the third-person action-adventure project. The game was part of EA’s longterm exclusive arrangement with Disney and Lucasfilm to developer Star Wars games. EA acquired Respawn in 2017. Respawn is also working on a new game in the Titanfall franchise and a still-untitled virtual reality game for Oculus Rift.
