Imperator: Rome was revealed earlier today in Stockholm as the next grand strategy title coming from Paradox Interactive. There was a lot more news coming out for fans of Paradox’s work. Here’s a trailer-by-trailer recap: Board games for Paradox’s major series Paradox Interactive said it’s working with established tabletop designers to bring out board games based on the Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron, Europa Universalis and Cities: Skylines franchises. Crusader Kings: The Board Game opened with a Kickstarter fund drive today and has almost doubled its original goal in a day. Cities: Skylines, reports PC Gamer, is being handled by Rustan Hakansson, maker of Nations. Crusader Kings: The Board Game is by Free League Publishing. in addition to a detailed game board, include 70 plastic figurines, 110 character cards, 155 action cards, and loads more. The Europa Universalis and Hearts of Iron adaptations have a longer way to go; Eagle-Gryphon Games is working on Hearts of Iron and envisions a Kickstarter announcement sometime next year. Expansions galore Europa Universalis 4, which launched in early 2014, is getting a new expansion, “Dharma,” which takes that series to the Indian subcontinent.
