I wanted to cover some things, that I feel should be an absolute and authoritative feature to your list building campaigns and efforts, in a “bumper to bumper” capacity.
The thing I would like you to know before we get started, is that I personally subscribe to almost every list I possibly can. There are a couple of reasons that I do this, first of which being that I could not be so arrogant as to think that I am the best there is hands down, and that I could not possibly LEARN something from a beginner. Some of the least experienced people who have existed have developed some of the most innovative things people have witnessed. They are less seasoned and programmed, and have wonderful ideas. The second reason I subscribe to all the lists that I can, is to get a feel for what people are promoting, so that I can always avoid the area with the most competition. Lastly but not least, I do this to gauge myself, to see if I am actually giving something valuable, which I feel is paramount. I do not think that anyone likes a liar when it comes to submitting your name and e-mail for promised information, and it is either way to embellished, or not at all what you were ensured you would be delivered.
We must understand, that people will and do get either immediately behind you and your product or service, or they immediately consider you a crook and a joke. We must be giving real and usable information. If you are building a list on the promise of a free report, do not send them a two paragraph definition of something they probably know already. This will not create a receptive client, and if they are not receptive to you, they are not going to spend one red cent of their hard earned money for anything you are talking about. I always map out my campaign, so I know I can see it has value. In addition to that, I am always researching the latest in techniques, tools, imagery etc., so that in that regards I know I am delivering information which they likely do not possess yet.
A very important thing that must be done as well, is to be grateful. What does it mean? Every single piece of information you send to anyone on your list, should let them know how grateful you are, to have a relationship with them. This will set you apart, a simple and genuine thing to convey, and yet it has such a profound and valuable presence on your communications. Trust me, in the power of gratitude.
The last things I want to give you to help you, is a quick fact, and one more tool or technique. The quick fact, is that right now I want you to try and switch your splash and capture page lettering font to “Tahoma”, and make it the color red. That a little fact you can use right now, to see some more subscribers, it is fact, and it is something you should use. The technique is, to try finding something that you can give for free, and by that I do NOT mean the far to common free report, free e-book, free course, what I mean free is, save up a couple of hundred dollars, buy some “I-tunes” and send a couple of hundred of the people on your list each a free song you bought them, this is not done and it will BLOW THEIR MIND. You could spend money in many ways besides direct advertising to generate some amazing conversions. Build a capture page that promises to buy them 5000 traffic exchange credits for joining you, and they will love you, and believe in you. You could purchase those 5000 traffic exchange hits for as little as a few dollars at some of the auto-surf exchanges. This is so powerful, because for one, you are doing something dramatically different than the rest, and also you are delivering on what you promised, therefore developing credibility, but lastly, you are immediately appearing to them as someone who made it, and should be followed and listened to. If you can afford to pay for traffic for them, you must be doing well.
These are just some ideas that I feel you should make highly important in your future list building efforts and in your list maintenance as well. You could use any of these things to capture and build, and to market to the existing list as well.
Thank you as always, I am grateful for you sharing your time with me, and also for having an interest in improving, and evolving yourself and your campaigns for the better.
