Vietnam’s football governing body this week rejected rumors that 6 international footballers jailed for match fixing would have punishments waived in time to suit up for the SEA Games in December.
Nguyen Hai Huong, head of discipline department under the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), said, “I can confirm 100 percent the six players [Van Quyen, Van Truong, Phuoc Vinh, and Hai Lam, Bat Hieu and Quoc Anh] will be suspended for at least two years by the VFF.”
